This past week...

Sorry I have not posted in a long while. I've been so busy with getting ready to go home and Christmas and on top of it all my son got sick.

Before Christmas my son came down with something. He had a high fever, and stuffy nose. I got him a apt a few days later. Of course that was one of his better days, no fever and just a little stuffy. But it turned out he had fluid in his ear, but not enough to do anything. I was just thinking well give me something for him we leave less than a week! They gave me more Tylenol for the plane trip but we leave tomorrow and its already half way gone...why you may ask? He started his fever again till the weekend. And then I woke up with a stuffy nose that just got worse during the day. My husband took good care of me and put the vaporizer right next to me. Little did we think our son was going to put his finger in it! He burned it good, there went some more Tylenol. He had a blister that wrapped nearly around his finger, it poped on its own and looks really gross. Then the next day, last night, he decided to fall a little to close to the filing cabinet. He ended up smacking his face on it cutting his eyelid.

Now I have to go to the clinic with a baby whose finger if burned and eyelid is cut. We just keep saying hes trying to hurt himself before we leave. Cause also yesterday he decided to pull the end table on himself, its very heavy wood, lucky for him his mama can fly across the living room and catch it before it falls. This boy is not helping my stress issues right now.

So we're all packed we managed to pack everything in our carry-ons. I also bought a huge purse today to help out. I hear its starting to rain again in WA so the snow is leaving but we'll still get to play in some.

But I got to go finish the dishes don't want to come home to a dirty house. Also finish packing. Its off to WA we go. I will post hopefully when I get a chance.

Picture post

This post is mostly all pictures.

We got to the NEX a little to early for Santa so we went outside to play we were trying to make it to the playground but little man had his own idea of what we were going to do.

My hubby put our son in his shirt, thought it would be funny, I'm glad that man has enough energy to play with our son because after being up all night or playing with him all day I'm tired and have no energy.

This one speaks for its self, the one day i decide to take a nap, he falls asleep in his highchair lucky for us my hubby grabbed the camera and took some pictures for me. My little man hasn't fallen asleep in his highchair since he was 8months old.

This just shows you my sons organization skills, he separated his cereal from his apples. I'll show you a closer picture next:

My son makes me smile, i really hope he doesn't have OCD. last night he ate all of him noddles and corn out of his hamburger helper, before starting on the hamburger. Picky picky little boy.

The Clinic and other

Since my husband had the day off today I thought I would run to the clinic early morning to get my depo shot. For those of you who don't know who that is, its a form of birth control you get once every 3months. I love it since i'm really bad at taking a pill the sametime everyday....I.E: my son, thats how we got him.

The morning started off great, although I was up all night with my little man, I heard these little footsteps this morning. I didn't think anything of it, maybe it could have been from outside. Then I hear a high pitch "hi," I look over and my little man was just staring at me with a big smile. He melted my heart, he never walks from his room to ours w/out throwing a fit somewhere in between. So we got off to a good start.

I left while my little man was eating breakfast its about the only time i can get away without him throwing a huge fit. I get to the clinic, and go to the desks where you check in to see what i have to do to get my shot renewed. They told me to go to the pharmasy get my perscription and come back. I did as told. The people at the pharmasy told me i have no renewals left. I went back to the desk to relay the message. They didn't know why it was like that and I should be able to renew my perscription up to a year...blah blah blah ect. Then I had to wait 20mins just for a doctor to sign off on my perscription just so i can get it. After that it went fast, and they kept saying they're sorry, but that is the reason i came so early. Going to the clinic is never smooth.

On another note: I was talking to my dad last night and he said they had 12in of snow in WA, and it was still coming down. When he woke up this morning he said it was still coming. I stole some pictures of my friends place to share with ya'll. When ya'll nice and warm i'll be playing in this in 13days!

Our close friend TJ lives about 12miles up the mountain said he has 32ins at his house. I can't wait.

He makes my day

If you couldn't tell by now my son is my world. Even though all day everyday he throws numerous fits, and somedays i just want to pull my hair out. But he usally does one thing that just makes it all better.

For instance, his new thing is. taking a wipe and scrubbing the couch, who even thinks of that.

Sorry todays is so short but i got a story:

When I started dating my husband he would tell me he would fall from a bunk bed in his sleep and not wake up. I was like ya right thats impossible, you'd wake up if you fell from a normal bed.

Well my son has been in a toddler bed for about 3weeks now? Anyways he hasn't fallen out once. But last night we were watching TV while the rugrat was sleeping and I heard a loud thump. I asked my husband what was that? He said its probably his sippy cup. My son wont sleep without his sippy cup, and offten you hear it hit the wall. About a half hour later my son wakes up on the floor! So the thump was him falling and he didn't wake up. I thought it was so funny, I felt bad of couse but it just cracked me up. I didn't think that could happen.

What did you wanna be?

Think way back in the day, between the ages of 10 through your senior year of high school? What did you wanna be when you were growing up? Did you persue it or take another path?

When I was little about 10, I wanted to be a singer. It was until about 7th grade that I realized I can't sing to save my life. So I decided I wanted to be an actress. Even though my dreams for most people seemed untouchable my family still supported me. My dad took me to an interview with a talent agency once, but it turned out it would cost to much to get my portfolio started.

I started highschool before I knew it and that was the year I wanted to be a writer. I slacked off a lot that year and it was writing that helped me pass the one class that I was failing. We had to make poem books and I turned in exta poems for lots of extra credit.

Going into my second year of highschool, I really got into art. My best friend at the time and I were planing to open up our own tattoo shop.

My jounior year was more of a float year...i had no idea what i wanted to be. For once I just enjoyed the school year without really worrying about that.

Then the last year came. I had decided I wanted to become the first state trooper in WA that was under 5foot 3in and under 140lbs. I went to volcational school, and took crimnal justice. It turned out it wasn't really for me. I wouldn't mind doing it still but its just not my nitch...it turned out its my husbands nitch instead.

After highschool and moving accross country I really got into cake decorating. I got really good at it too. But I don't think it would be a carreer for me. I'll probably do it more as a fun thing.

Now when I grow up I wanna be a party/wedding planner. I love planning events, but my husband won't listen to me about my "carreer" ideas anymore. I think you can guess why. But I believe one day i'll find my nitch, it just takes time. lol

My husbands grandma, I love her like my own

A few days ago, I started wondering if we had enough to get our tickets eventhough we got a loan. It just kind of worried me because they've been telling the guys that their leave is approved a week before they would leave. So I searched site after site after site for the cheapest tickets I could find. It turned out I found some that all together it would cost us somewhere around $900+ not including tax. So we had enough but would have money left to really enjoy our vacation, because every payday we have just enough, I mean we use every penny on bills, gas and groceries.

Its like god heard my prayers and understood my concern, because the following day my husband was talking to his grandma and she offered to help us pay for the tickets as our christmas presents. Bless her heart she is the kindest person I know. Shes done so much for us, without ever asking for us to give back.

My husbands grandma does so much. She is the retired commistionar at the local volunteer fire dept. and still does all the work. She works 12hr shifts at the hospital a few times a week and never hesitates to go in when she gets called in. She takes her dad to his cancer treatments, and takes care of him and her mom.

When we had an issue with my family and needed to get my husbands car back she loaned us the money at the drop of a hat for us to get it back. She didn't even care if we did pay it back but we did. We're probably one of the only people in the family that would.

When we decided to get married and couldn't set a date till a week before, she not only helped plan it but she paid for it. Everyone said it was a great wedding, she did a great job.

She is such an amazing person, I know it helps that I married the favorite in the family. But she seems to always be there when we need her the most. Do you have anyone in your family like that? That eventhough they can't afford it they do it anyways? I know a lot of people don't really get along with thier inlaws but I'm one of the few that do, and I am blessed to have found my husband who has a grandma that god gave such a kind heart too.

Saw Santa

We went to go see Santa yesterday! Brock was tired just like last year, but this year we got a little more of a lively picture of the little man.

Brock last year a few weeks after he was born

Brock and his greatgrandma last year she got all dressed up to take a picture with him

Brock w/Santa this year at the NEX its amazing to see just how much my baby has changed in the past year.

An Email

This is a email I recieved awhile back:

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST
She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee.
Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box.
Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week.
Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl.
And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

Keep reading-they get better!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOMEN'S REVENGE
'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase.
As she fumbled for her wallet , I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.
'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked.
'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me,
And I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,
Pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root,
And still be afraid of a spider.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

MARRIAGE SEMINAR
While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication,
Tom and his wife Grace listened to the instructor,
'It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes.'
He addressed the man,
'Can you name your wife's favorite flower?'
Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, 'It's Pillsbury, isn't it?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS
A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up & down the aisles.
The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.
He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.
She directs him down the correct aisle.
A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter.
She says, confused, 'Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?
He answers, 'You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store
To get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco
And some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper.
So, I figure if I have to roll my own ......... So does she.
(I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WIFE VS HUSBAND
A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word.
An earlier discussion had led to an argument and
Neither of them wanted to concede their position.
As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs,
The husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?'
'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WORDS
A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day...
30,000 to a man's 15,000.
The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...
The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CREATION
A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be
So stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.
'The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain.
God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me;
God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WHO DOES WHAT
A man and his wife were having an argument about who
Should brew the coffee each morning.
The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first,
and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.
The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and
you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.'
Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and beside s, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.'
Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.'
So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Silent Treatment
A man and his wife were having some problems at home
and were giving each other the silent treatment.
Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him
at 5:0 0 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper,
'Please wake me at 5:00 AM .' He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him,
when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.
The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM . Wake up.'
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece

Going Home

Jan. last year I was getting ready to leave the state that I had lived in for 19years, with my little man. We were moving across the country to just about the smallest base I have ever seen besides Everett Homeport in WA. To be honest I was a little excited for the new adventure ahead of me.

I was nervous about flying with Brock alone because he was only a month old. We didn't fly sooner because I was scared that my c-section scar would pop open. Call me crazy but it did when they took the staples out it was a little part to small to do anything about and it to recovering a lot more painful. But that's a post for another day. I really didn't want to be that mom with the annoying screaming baby on the plain. But it worked out perfect, I gave him Tylenol before boarding and he slept through the flights.

I thought living so close to FL that it would be a lot warmer in Jan. I was a little wrong, it was a little chilly but it beat cold wet WA. My husband picked us up and I was so excited to start our new life as a family here in GA.

In about 3weeks we'll be flying back to WA on leave. I have never looked for to cold weather so much in my life. I wanna see snow, (we both grew up in the mountains my husband and I so we're used to seeing snow at least once a year) and relaxing in my husbands grandmas back yard staring at the peak of the mountain. That is a priceless view.

My husband is staying a little under 2weeks there because his leave got cut short, but Brock and I are staying a few weeks extra. Don't worry Hope we'll be back in time for Compass. I loved that class and wouldn't miss it for the world, plus I love spending time w/my family but not that much time if you know what I mean?

I know when I board that plain to come back to GA, I will be sad like last time but nervous too. My son is a year older and most likely will be more of a pain. So if there are any suggestions anyone could give me on that one would be great. He would be riding on my lap.

I'm so excited to go home! I can't wait, it can't happen soon enough...

UGH!!! I'm so peeved

It started a few days ago when my husband came home telling me that they're not going to tell us that we got our leave for new years till about a week before....my husband is an E2 in the navy, what makes them think we can afford plain tickets a week before we leave? Thank god we put in for a loan. Then on top of that he told me his schedule might be changing again.
Right now he works two days on, two off, three days on, two off, two on, three off....ect. Its going to go from that to two on (those two days he'll have to stay at lower base w/out coming home) two off, then two days of training. He was trying at the time to point out the good stuff about it, like "I'll only be working 8hrs instead of 12," he told me, ya but I'm not going to see you for two days. Then he would say, "Since I'm quelled on everything most of the time during training i will get off early," ya that's if they're not helping out with the subs can't say exactly what. And when hes done training before they made them sit there, weither quelled or not, all day. So i find it hard to believe he'll get off early.
Well yesterday my husband came home with some bad news. First one was, our leave is getting cut by 3days at least. Because of the I'm just going to call it "sub help" they have to do. Everyone else got they're whole entire leave, the thanksgiving people and the Christmas people. We my husband and I decided not to be selfish and pick new years cause not many people would pick it and we just wanna go home we don't care when.
That being said my husband is going to check with his first class to see if he can wait to go on leave and get his 15days later. In all honesty i bet they will tell him yes and it will never come, i stopped trusting what they say and not believe till its on paper and signed. If that doesn't work then my husband said hes going to let Brock and I stay longer in WA. Its nice and I'll probably do it but I'm going to miss him.
And the last but not least, they are changing his schedule. So I'm just peeved right now. I know there is nothing i can do about it but sometimes the navy just ticks me off. A lot of people say in his command its not the navy its this base, and its not the base its the command. But 9 1/2 more months and we get to see if it was true.
I got my vent out, going Christmas shopping today after Brocks nap so that'll cheer me up. Also going to call my mama and vent to her, it always feels better once I talk to her.

Do they ever sleep through the night?!!!

I haven't slept through the night in one year....neither has my loving son. And for some reason everyonce in awhile he decides he just can't sleep. But last night was awful!!! Okay it wasn't really last night more so it was this morning...

My husband got up at 2:21 this morning like he does every work morning. I grab his lunch out of the frige and put it on the couch for him and crawl back into bed. I get woken up again for a kiss goodbye. Thats where my son comes in.

I cant fall alseep to easily but my son has great timing. He decided he was going to wake up at the time I was falling back to sleep. So I grab him thinking he just wants to sleep with mommy, like always. Someone couldn't get confy so I put him back in his bed he stayed asleep for less than 30mins. Not knowing what was wrong cause he wouldn't cry if I was standing up holding him, if I layed down with him he cryed. So I turned on the TV it worked for about another 30mins. We fought for awhile until about 5:30 someone finally went to sleep, only to wake up in the same mood and hour later. I just told him its time to get up and turned on the lights, but he didn't leave my lap till 7:30. He's in his high chair now bearly touching his food, his eyes are red from the lack of sleep and I'm feeling it too. Can't wait till nap time.

I keep telling myself that one day he'll sleep through the night but I don't think it will ever happen!

My "Weekend" Mon-Tues

My husband has a weird schedule, this week is his short week. He only works two days. So since he worked all weekend, our weekend started on Mon.

Monday was a very relaxed day as our first day of the weekend usually is. He got to sleep in a half hour later than Brock and I. Big whoop, if your going to sleep in make it worth it. He lounged around the house a little bit then left to get our loan (so we can have a good Christmas and go to WA on vacation), he needed a hair cut, cause his hair was poking around his ears some, and his first class was getting on him about that. After that he went to pick me up some buns for dinner and he did some shopping at the auto store. When he got back that's when I started moving....sloooowwwwwly cleaning house, while he worked on his car.

Poor guy didn't get much done w/his car that he wanted to, he said today just wasn't the day to work on it. So he took Brock out on his new car and pushed him around.

The day Brock got his new fav. toy the car

Tuesday; our Sunday; we decided to do some Christmas shopping. We went to target first on the count that I had a gift card to it. We tried to look at toys for Brock, we didn't like any of them. So we tried stuff for my husband which he didn't really want anything more considering we just spent 100+ on crap for his car. So we did Christmas decorations cause we don't have any! We're just starting off together so we're still buying stuff for our lives. My gift card and some went to Christmas decorations.

After that we went to payless, there were these super cute boots I wanted from there, that became on of my presents. My husband never knows what to get me so what we do is I pick out what I want and he buys it.....its a good system I think.

We then went to Duval road where the shopping center is. Brock fell asleep right when we got there, he has the best timing sometimes. Checked out all the stores then at Gander Mountain, for no reason at all Brock just started crying, we figured it was time to go....the problem....getting my husbands but out of the store. He didn't know if he really wanted the sunglasses he was getting. Sometimes hes worse than a women.

We drove home and stoped at k-mart for clothes for Brock cause someone needed more jeans and since hes a baby he grows fast so we don't spend much on his clothes, k-mart had the best deals. Someone stayed asleep on daddy's shoulder the whole time. So feeling bad that we were right next to the house and would most likely wake him up we drove around till he woke up.

I wasn't feeling good so my hubby bubby hung the lights and finished decorating the house, we still have to hang a few more things but for the most part we are done. So for the most part my weekend was good. I love spending time with my boys.

My baby is 1

My baby is finally 1. Hes my first so its a really big thing to me, I guess turning 1 is a big thing for any mom. Anyways it just hasn't hit me yet that he is 1, its hard to believe that last year I was in a hospital all day waiting for this little bugger to come out.

For any parent you know that having a baby is a blessing and also a learning experience. That's why a lot of people say the first one is more of a trial run and the second one turns out okay. Its funny but kind of true, (for the record I believe my first is going to be just fine lol) with the first your new to everything, and by the time number 2 rolls around your a pro. Let me just emphasize on what I have learned this past year:

I never grew up around baby's, I actually felt awkward around them and pretty much never expected to have any of my own. So when my little bundle of joy came around, even though I have practice on a doll for 9months how to change a baby's dipper, I still had the nurse sit there and watch me to make sure I was doing it right. That was my first.

I was lucky w/my son he was a eater from day one and to this day he can't get enough food. Where does it go I don't know hes average weight and short for his age. So breast feeding was something for me to learn but he did most of the work. Until it was time for me to eat. Learning how to hold a baby in one hand and breast feed while trying to eat my hot meal was something to learn. And I learned fast it isn't going to happen I was just going to have to wait. So I learned how to eat cold food.

Then every mom knows this one....waking up at night. Ugh! I feel like I haven't slept in a year. First it was every hour. Then every 2hrs, when we got to every 3hrs it was like being in heaven. But now I look back and I got more sleep back then, cause he slept all day and when he was asleep I was. Now he just takes 1 nap a day (what happen to the 4 he used to take) and he'll sleep mostly through the night, sometimes he wakes up at 1am and wants to play. One day I plan to have an undisturbed sleep....one day I hope.

So once you get past the first few months, you start to notice something different about them....he could lift his head up w/no problem. That's when you learn to get excited about the littlest things that if you weren't a mother you'd think whats the big deal.

They start moving more and more as months go by and you learn the hard way that you can't just lay them on the couch anymore and do the dishes. We believe our son has a hard head.

Then they start crawling and you learn to put everything up and out of reach...that's until they start climbing, and that stuff you put out of reach is no longer safe. So we tried putting stuff in drawers and putting baby locks on them. For some baby's that might work, but mine opened it as far as he could and yanked on it until the baby lock broke. So there went that one.

You find out saying "no" to your baby is the worst thing you could do...according to them. You see all sorts of tempers flying around and you and your husband play the blame game...who did he get it from. The other day my son threw a fit, he was laying on the floor screaming but we couldn't see him and he couldn't see us. So he stopped and dragged his body across the floor to where he could see us and continued....its hard not to laugh at that.

Teething....my son was getting his first few teeth. Nobody told me you could get dirrea from teething! So freaked out when my son had dirrea for over a week and was ready to go to the hospital. Lucky for us my husbands grandma is a nurse and told us if he starts acting sick take him in, and don't worry about it.

Then there was walking...I couldn't wait for him to walk! Then he started walking and I was ready for him to crawl again. This boy fallows me all over the house and hes faster now that he is walking. Another thing I learned just wait cause once they learn something new your gonna wish they never learned it.

Now that he's been walking for a few weeks, we're starting to find things in weird places. For instance I found a dvd and a torned up baby wipe in one of my kitchen drawers. We found my husbands sandal in the toilet...maybe someone will learn to put the seat down now. Hes turning more and more into a little boy. Even though hes no longer considered a baby he'll always be a baby to me, my little baby.

Heres Brock on his birthday eating his cake:
